New Mains of Guynd Solar Park is a 12MW ground mounted large solar PV project on farmland at Carmyllie, Arbroath in Angus.
The 19.5ha (48 acre) site has been specifically selected for development as it has excellent levels of irradiance (daylight), it is gently sloping to the south and has a simple electricity grid connection.
The solar park will produce enough energy to power around 2750 homes.
All of the legal agreements for the solar park use on the land is in place and no third party land requirements are needed.
Planning permission was granted by Angus Council on 6th October 2014 as a delegated decision.
The project has a confirmed grid connection for 9.5MW with an anticipated connection date in early 2016.
The current proposal is to have the New Mains of Guynd Solar Park constructed and generating electricity in early 2016.
